When the Monsters come to play….
I was asked for a epic birthday present containing Freddy, Jason, and Leatherface. So Monsters was born.
I was quite excited to do this piece as it allowed me to enter new territory with faces. I am so used to smooth very human faces with little to no imperfections. Then I am introduced to these guys.
This was a rather simple layout and coloring started with the faces as they were going to be the more fine tuned part of the painting. The bodies turned into a more impression style painting. I did not focus on details just shading and colors to create the look of fine tuned detail. The paint was done in thin layers as to let the color build without adding bulk to the canvas. It did also help with the drying progress as well.
