One of my first few portraits done while still in high school of the famous Lestat de Lioncourt from the movie Queen of the Damned based on Anne Rice’s novels. This was done in oils on canvas board. This was quite a feat for me to accomplish as I was new to lighting set up this way (very dominate on one side). So it became mini challenge for me to create a sort of 3D view of him with the strands of hair, since some would catch the light and others wouldn’t. Over all I was very pleased with this work and have grown because of this piece with a better understanding of light and objects.
